Terms & Conditions

1. Services

RocketTutoring provides academic tutoring and test-prep tutoring (SAT/ACT and other standardized tests if offered). Tutoring is educational coaching and support; it is not a substitute for school instruction or testing-organization materials.

The first tutoring session may include time spent reviewing the student’s academic background, current coursework, goals, and learning needs in order to personalize instruction.

2. Delivery Format

Sessions are primarily held over Zoom. In-person sessions may be arranged for local clients by mutual agreement, with location and logistics confirmed in writing. If a Zoom session experiences technical issues, RocketTutoring will make reasonable efforts to continue by an alternate method or reschedule when appropriate.

3. Scheduling & Time Zone

All session times are scheduled in California (Pacific Time). Clients located in other time zones are responsible for converting session times correctly when booking.

4. Punctuality

Tutors will begin sessions at the scheduled time. Session length is measured from the original scheduled start time. Late arrivals do not extend the session end time.

5. Rescheduling, Cancellations, and No-Shows

Unlimited rescheduling is permitted when requested more than 72 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled start time will be treated as a no-show.

No-shows are treated as attended sessions. For packages, a no-show counts as a used session. For single sessions, no-shows are non-refundable.

If an emergency arises, please email as soon as possible. RocketTutoring will make reasonable efforts to be fair while protecting reserved time.

6. Payment

Payment is due at the time of booking or package purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing. Unpaid appointments may be canceled.

7. Tutor Cancellations / Events Outside Control

If RocketTutoring must cancel a session due to illness, emergency, or technical issues, the session will be rescheduled or credited. RocketTutoring is not responsible for interruptions caused by events outside reasonable control, including internet outages or platform downtime.

8. Packages

Packages are intended for one student and are generally non-transferable.

Household transfer: If a student completes their studies and another student in the same household will continue, remaining package hours may be transferred upon request.

Expiration: Packages expire 18 months after purchase unless otherwise stated at checkout. Extensions may be granted at RocketTutoring’s discretion.

Refunds: Packages are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law. Sessions already used, including no-shows, are non-refundable.

9. Communication

Email is the primary communication channel and receives priority. Please use email for scheduling changes, questions, and sharing materials. RocketTutoring aims to respond within one business day when possible.

10. Student Materials

Clients are responsible for providing relevant materials as needed, including assignments, notes, practice tests, or other academic content. Materials may be shared via uploads or links to support session planning.

11. Academic Integrity

RocketTutoring supports learning and skill development. Tutors do not complete graded work on a student’s behalf. Tutors may explain concepts, review student work, and guide students toward their own solutions.

12. No Guarantees

Tutoring supports preparation and skill development, but specific academic outcomes, grades, or test scores cannot be guaranteed.

13. Recording

Sessions may not be recorded by either party without prior written consent.

14. Privacy Policy

RocketTutoring collects and uses personal information solely for scheduling and delivering tutoring services.

Information collected may include:
Client and parent/guardian contact details; student information (name, grade, goals); scheduling preferences; appointment details; session notes; learning plans; and any materials shared by the client.

Payment information is processed through scheduling and payment providers. RocketTutoring does not intentionally store full payment card details.

Use of information:
To schedule sessions, communicate with clients, personalize tutoring, and maintain reasonable business records.

Storage:
Information may be stored in Acuity/Squarespace Scheduling, Squarespace website forms, email communications, and internal session notes.

Sharing:
RocketTutoring does not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers necessary for scheduling, hosting, and payment processing, or as required by law.

Children’s privacy:
For students under 18, a parent or guardian must provide consent and submit information.

Retention & requests:
Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary. Clients may request access, corrections, or deletion where feasible, subject to legal and accounting obligations.

Security:
Reasonable steps are taken to protect personal information, but no online system is completely risk-free.

15. Session Environment & Conduct

Clients are responsible for being prepared with a safe and workable learning environment. RocketTutoring may end a session for unsafe or inappropriate behavior. In such cases, the session may be counted as attended.

Examples include attending a session while driving, harassment or abusive language, or any situation that makes tutoring unsafe or impractical.

16. Updates

RocketTutoring may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The most current version applies going forward.

17. Agreement

By booking a tutoring session and checking the agreement box during scheduling, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
